Uraku Style Tea Ceremony
The experience is presented by Oda Soyu, the 17th successor of the leading Tea house practicing Samurai Style Tea Ceremony "Uraku". Learn origins of the Samurai style tea ceremony, its connections with Samurai, and how it differs from commoners’ tea ceremony. Oda Soyu will explain the many formalities and details of Samurai style tea ceremony and perform it for the guests. Discover the meaning behind the term ShiGyouSou and “there are no limits” motto of complicated Uraku ceremony. At the end of the tour you will also know about the “Seven Crests of Oda Clan” and importance of the Four Seasons in traditional Japanese culture. The experience is suitable to both first time guests of a tea house and those who want to learn the ceremony in depth.
Itinerary for Uraku Style tea ceremony:
12:30 Pick up at your hotel
13:00 Arrive at Morimura Memorial house. Receive a lecture on the origin, philosophy, culture, and the manner of Uraku style by the master
13:30 Spectate the master conducting the ceremony
13:45 Actually experience the ceremony
14:10 End of the experience, drop off at your hotel
